SC collegium recommends names of advocates for judgeships in Delhi and P&H HCs

The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on August 17 has recommended the names of advocates for their appointment as judges in the Delhi High Court and the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The Collegium recommended the names of six advocates- Jasmeet Singh, Amit Bansal, Tara Vitasta Ganju, Anish Dayal,  Amit Sharma, and  Mini Pushkarna for their elevation as judges of the Delhi High Court.

In so far as Punjab and Haryana High Court is concerned, the Collegium has approved the name of advocate Rajesh Kumar Bhardwaj for his appointment as a judge of the P&H High Court.

For the appointment of High Court judges, the Collegium comprises the Chief Justice of India S A Bobde, Justices N V Ramana, and Arun Mishra – the first two senior-most judges.

On August 14, the Collegium had recommended names of advocates and judicial officers for their appointment as judges in the Allahabad High Court, Kerala High Court and the Gujarat High Court.
