Petition in SC seeks directions to Centre, WB govt to detect, deport “illegal Rohingya-Bangladeshi infiltrators”; invocation of NSA against those found extending help

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to the Centre and the West Bengal government to ‘detect’, ‘detain’ and ‘deport’ “illegal Rohingya” and “Bangladeshi infiltrators” from West Bengal within one year.

The plea has also urged the court to direct the Centre and the state government to identify and invoke National Security Act (NSA) against government employees, police personnel and security forces, who have links with “Infiltration Mafias” and help Rohingyas-Bangladeshis infiltrate into West Bengal and confiscate all their “disproportionate assets”.

Besides, it seeks directions to invoke the National Security Act (NSA) against government employees, travel agents and other such people, who provide PAN, AADHAAR, passport, ration card, voter card and driving license to Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators; and confiscate all their “disproportionate assets”.

The plea filed through Advocate-on-Record Aswini Kumar Dubey also seeks directions to the Centre to add a chapter in the Indian Penal Code to make illegal infiltration, a cognizable non-bailable and non-compoundable offence.

The plea has been filed by West Bengal-based resident, Sangita Chakraborty who claims to be a human rights activist.

She has alleged that Rohingya-Bangladeshi infiltrators indulged in beating, killing, heckling, looting, kidnapping, raping, burning the homed of Hindus who voted for BJP in the recently held assembly elections.
