Former CJ Madras HC to be Director of National Judicial Academy

THE Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) Monday approved the appointment of the former Chief justice of Madras High Court, Amreshwar Pratap Sahi, as the Director of the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal.

Sahi retired as Chief Justice, Madras High Court on December 31 last year.

Sahi was appointed as a high court judge in 2004. He served considerable time in the Allahabad High Court until his elevation as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. From there, he was sent to the Madras High Court.

The ACC is chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Home Minister Amit Shah its member.
